Arai and Nekoma Wrap Up For the Season

Arai Mountain wrapped up its 2024–25 winter season on 5/11 (Sun.), followed by Nekoma Mountain on 5/15 (Thu.). This weekend, on 5/18 (Sun.), the season will conclude at Kagura with a “Final Event”. Elsewhere, Yokoteyama and Shibutoge remain open for skiing until at least 5/25 (Sun.)! Despite already closing, Arai will host the “Lotte Arai Kansha-Sai” customer appreciation event on 5/17 (Sat.) and 5/18 (Sun.), featuring hike-up ski experiences and more. (Base depth data listed below is as of 5/16; dates in parentheses indicate each resort’s actual or scheduled closing day.)

*Popular unmanaged backcountry skiing terrain still skiable includes areas like Mt. Norikura (until mid-August) and Mt. Tateyama (until late June). Venturing into these areas requires the submission of a mountaineering report.
