The Town of Yamanouchi, which compiles official visitor figures for the Shiga Kogen ski areas, has announced that a review of its methodology puts total visitor numbers for the 2025–26 winter season at 628,000. The previous estimate was based on lift-transport figures supplied by each ski area, assuming an average of 10 lift rides per visitor. The total was recalculated using visitor data generated by each resort’s gate system.
