2026–27 Winter at Akakura Onsen

Despite the unusually warm winter and low snowfall across much of Japan in 2025–26, the Akakura Onsen Ski Area was blessed with abundant natural snowfall. The resort opened as scheduled on 12/13 (Sat.) and even extended the season by two days, closing on 3/31 (Tue.). Akakura Onsen has 14 lifts and a wide selection of terrain, making it especially well suited to beginner and intermediate skiers. Night skiing, available nowhere else in the Myoko area, is also planned again for the 2026–27 season. September-only advance discount adult 1-day tickets are now on sale for ¥4,000, which is the same price as last year!
